Gurgling sound fr gearbox (?) at "luke warm start"
#1

Sweden calling!

Need help with my 968 coupe I bought a couple of months ago. When the car is restarted after 15 minutes to 1 ½ hours there is a gurgling sound from the aft regions (gear box?). Any one know what this is? My dealer is baffled.

Amazon green as in Dark Green metallic? Same as my 92! Very curious about what your repairshop has to say. No one here seems able to help.

i'm guessing it's not the gearbox - have you been under the car to hear it? it would not be hard to imagine a gurgling sound coming from the fuel system

Not been under the car, it is my dealers chief machanic who has tried to figure out this. The gurgling sound only appears when starting lukewarm after the car has been turned of from 15 to 90 minutes. It is rather longdrawn, perhaps a 30 second period. Most people listening to it thinkgs it is something ventilating equalizing a preassure or simmilar.

Is it a Tiptronic or standard transmission? Not sure if this would make a difference but I'm just curious.

Hi

I had just the same noise on my 968 coupe, standard transmission. After

changing oil from Shell TMO to Mobil 1, the gurgeling disappeared... I don`t

know if it`s related, but the noise hasn`t come back yet...
