After seeing posts about the disappearance of the all-metal heater valve, I embarked on a mission to call all the Autozone stores within a 50 mile radius. I found one store with two valves, and bought both (all the other stores had the new plastic/metal valve).
If somebody wants to buy the second valve, I'll be glad to sell at my cost. Otherwise I'll return it to Autozone. This is the same replacement HCV mentioned in many posts on 968.net and probably here too. The pic is a little blurry, but I think you can see the number. My cost incl. sales tax was $31.38. I'll mail it through the local mailboxes, etc., so shipping will probably add another $5-$7 (I'm not sure of their cost).
If anybody is interested, pls email me though my profile on this website. If your within 50 miles of Berkeley, CA, we can probably arrange to meet and avoid shipping charges.
Note - see the topic "Posts that Every 968 Should Read" for a discussion on replacement HCV
