I've been lurking on this site for several months and finally took the plunge this week. Porsche No. 6 is a 1994 968 coupe; 50k miles; black with black partial leather interior. Options include M030 sport suspension with 17" wheels, limited slip differential and 10 speaker stereo. The car has 17" RUF/Speedline wheels on it now as well as a fiberglass splitter. I drove it home from Alabama Tuesday night and am very pleased with the power and handling. I am a mechanical engineer in the Nashville, TN area. According to the e-mails I receive daily, I am overweight, bald, need a loan and have the sexual stamina of a gnat. Some of these are closer to the truth than I am willing to admit. My first Porsche was a new 1986 944 Turbo. I have also owned a 1986 911 cabriolet that I sold to buy a 1987 924S for club racing. Since then, I have had a 1988 944 which I overhauled at 153000 miles and sold with 223000 miles. I'm still racing the 924S in PCA Club Racing (although if I could pick up a few dents, the new car could tempt me.) While I am no master mechanic, economics of racing has forced me to become very familiar with the Porsche water cooled fours. I look forward to learning about this car and appreciate the help that many of you have already provided through this list. Hopefully, I will get to meet some of you in person someday.

I was actually the high bidder in April, but did not hit the reserve. I was in his area on business in June and called to see if he still had the car. I went and looked at it and made him an offer. He refused, but called me back two weeks later and accepted. I'll try to take some photos this weekend, but you can see the car on E-bay - Item No. 4539884569.

Welcome aboard, jww968. Congratulations on the fine machine you just picked up! And to think that you drove it right past me while heading back home on I-65. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
