I just did some repairs. The cooling fans (behind the engine radiator) sometimes didn't stop turning and drained the battery. Changed the thermoswitch, but no result, thus I replaced the old relay with a new one --> OK.

I changed the old HCV +/- a year ago by a metal valve. The regulation with the new metal version (NAPA) was very bad, switching between all or no heat.
I placed a new OEM type --> OK
The valve-sitting of the metal type was "butterfly". The valve-sitting of the OEM is "sliding-door" --> this explains the difference in regulation.

After 1 year of manuel operating, the electric function for the convertibel top is repaired.
The syncro-cable between the 2 electric engines was broken.

Rack-Tack and StuttgartShift Block are installed a week ago. Changing gears is more direct, I like the tuttgart Shift Block.
For the Rack-Tack --> I don't feel the difference, but I need a new alignment for the front wheels, because the steering wheel is now off middle position in the straight.

After a long search, I finally bought steel lug nuts via ebay. The are the "close type" like the alloy OEM --> It was a bargain.

Overall : our cars can become better and better with aging (or with maintenace and some well chosen mod's).

What is a Rack-Tack?

And was it hard to install the shift block? I am considering buying it for my car as well.

Hi Johan,
Rack Tack is a nylon bushing to replace the rubber OEM. The bushing is an end of travel of the steering rack. For the Stuttgart Shift Block, access is difficult as the linkage is located above the tranny. Best is to take the complete linkage out from the car and then replace the plastic part by the aluminium Stuttgart S B. Not as easy as cleaning the MAF with your CRC spraybus.
