Greetings from VA
#1

Hello to everyone at 968 forums.

I have been a Porsche fan for since before I could drive when had Porsche posters in my room. My first car was a '74 VW Karman Ghia convertible, which I still have today, that I restored over the weekends while I was in High School. Although it was not a Porsche, I had goals of restoring it to look and perform as if it were a Porsche. I think I came very close for a high school student because it still turns heads when it's on the road.

I finally treated myself to my first Porsche, an '89 951 (Seal Gray/Black) when I graduated from College (Univeristy of MD, College Park... Go Terps!). It was a great car but sadly, it was taken from me in an accident (not my fault, honestly!!) in 2007.

After a 5 year haiatus from Porsche ownership, I'm now looking for a 968 coupe (6-spd manual) in good condition. I think I'm close as I've located a few good examples of this under-appreciated (overall) Porsche line. Hopefully, I'll be able to introduce my new addition to the forum soon.

Regards,

Joel

Welcome, Joel, and good luck in your search. Be patient and you'll find a good example - although I had to look a quite a few "rats" before I found a good one.

When I graduated from college, the only thing I was treating myself to was macaroni and cheese for about ten years.

Welcome. Boy you just blasted me back 38 years. I went cross country in 74 in I believe a 72 Karman Ghia convertible. Did I mention with two other guys? Ahh to be young. Enjoy your search and be patient as Tama suggests. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the greetings. Good news, I got my car and am officially a Porsche owner again! I bought a beautiful 94 coupe (Blk/Blk). Daryl, where is your shop located? I'd love to bring it by.

Congratulations! You found one (a good example, hopefully) in under a month, that's pretty good.

Beware when you swing by Darryls shop. Lots of sparkly eye candy. The only time I had ever seen a Noble was at his shop.
