Greetings to my 968 community!
#1

Hello everyone,

Im excited to join this incredible community of 968 enthusiasts! I just picked up my third 968 and have been working to get it to be concours worthy! Ive always loved the 968 since I was young and first saw this incredible piece of automotive artistry! I first entered the realm of Porsche ownership with a German model 1982 944, USA model as an 1983 when I was in my early 20s. At the time it was costly to own the car and pay for maintenance and repairs with the salary I was making at the time. Fast forward to 2016 when I picked up an 87 951 project and restored the entire car soup to nuts over the course of 3 years. The car then suffered a rear end collision and needed rear quarter panel and tail end work. Alas I came across a 1994 968 shell in perfect condition and decided to pick it up with the intent to swap the rear section onto the 951 to create a hybrid 944 S3 turbo! Ive always loved the rear of the 968 and had planned to remove the rear section, however, I just couldnt bring myself to cut up a perfect condition shell, so I decided to make my own 968 turbo clone! I have been working on this for the past 3 years and happy to say Im in the final phase of the project having rebuilt nearly the entire car at this point and sourced 968 body parts to complete this project. Every part has been either replaced, rebuilt, powder coated and/or sandblasted and rezinced plates and yellow chromated to a showroom quality. I had picked up another 1994 968 that suffered front end damage and needed an interior, however, the front subframe horn damage was pretty significant, so I may be unfortunately scrapping this project now that Ive picked up a 1992 968 in amazing condition, except for some body work and paint. This will be my stock, slightly modded 3.0 968 and the 1994 968 turbo clone will eventually receive the rebuilt 3.0 out of the other 1994. At least that is the plan for now. Im really looking forward to bring part of the this community! Thank you for reading this.

All my best,

James
