Greetings from Holland!
#1

Hello 968 clan!

Great to part of this select group of 968 enthusiasts.

I am from Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands, on the border with Belgium and Germany.

My car is a purple 1993 968CS and collected about 180000 km. The type reads CS on the back, but was given extra luxury during delivery, like targaroof, airco, 10-speaker Alpine radio system, leather grey interior and driver airbag. It does miss the engine lining and rear wiper, the rear spoiler is part of the purple livery as well.

At the moment I am reworking the car to be more 'CS' as you like. I am looking for a brake upgrade, as the M030 or similar.

The car is on the driveway, undergoing drivebelt and balanceshaft belt repairs. Next on the agenda is inspection of the camshafts and balance shaft belt replacements.

Next time, I hope to find some technical assistance among you guys, to solve some other defects the car is suffering for some time now.

Greetz,

Martijn Dekker

Thanks guys, hope to be of help, too.

I owned a 928S for three years, also a beautiful car! But had too many technical problems with it, which were very costly.

I am missing the V8 sound, though... Maybe an inox exhaust makes a difference..

That, or no exhaust at all...

Welcome to the forum. It would be great to see some photo's of your car. The colour combination and specification makes it sound like it would be unique.

As per the posts above, lots of great information and very knowledgable people here to draw from.

Hopefully the 968 will be much more reliable and provide years of enjoyment.

So, I found some pics. Had to reduce them first to the required specs, sorry it took some time..

Could somebody give a small intro how to attach pictures to this reply? I tried copy/paste, but did not work.

When I press the image icon, it is asking for a URL, which I do not really understand..how does it work the easy way guys?

I don't think you can add pictures to the "Intro" area of the Forum. You will need to place it in anothe rarea and AFTER you have reached the appropriate level of postins (read the Forum Rules).

Welcome to the Forum!

Both my parents and and my wife's parents were born in Holland and immigrated to Canada in the early 50's. We have both been in Holland several times (last time was two years ago), and enjoyed it very much.

Hahaha, nice Dave! The Dutch are everywhere! You should know this, hahaha.

That a pitty, I will await membership then to show you the pictures.

Always nice to hear Canadians and Americans love to come to Holland. I have been many times to Canada and the States for either work or holiday.

I am a aircraft avionics technician for Bombardier. They are based in Toronto, as you might know.

Good to hear Dutch 968 owners are welcome on the site, eventhough the are clogging the chat..haha

Greetz Olaf!

I've been in Amsterdam twice in the last couple months, but I never get to stay long And I've got some friends and employees there, so you'd think I'd take some time to hang around!

You should indeed stay longer Tama, lots to see in Amsterdam!

Hey Utrecht! Do you visit the Franchorchamps Porsche days aswell each year? Great to drive on the F1 track during trials or just for the annual record attempt to get as many Porsches on the track.

I do see some of you guys from up North of our little country, but not many unfortunately. The gross is all 911's.
