Greetings from Australia

Hi Guys

I've just sold a 1971 911 that I used for tarmac rally and historic racing.

I'm now seriously thinking of a 968 Clubsport for fun on weekends and the occasional track day.

Numbers are a bit limited down here but I have my eye on one already!

Cheers

Hi Cam,

You will find the 968 an excellent choice for track days. In its class it is ultra competitive. Not sure many will be in the Northern Territory though.

Good luck with the hunt. Lots of great info and knowledgable people here. Look for the pre-purchase inspection info.

Thanks Craig

I think there are one or two 968's up here in Darwin but no CS's.....

I'm pretty used to jumping on a plane to check out cars though!

Are you heading down to Rennsport in Sydney next week?

Cheers

Hi Cam,

I have been checking out CS ads recently, there are a few around the country for sale. There is a black 1995 CS at Bongaree (just north of Brisbane) advertised on carsales.com.au at the moment for $35K that caught my eye and looks pretty nice. Can't post the link for some reason.

I'm still in shock over the Aussie prices though, having just come back from living overseas for a long time!

Cheers,

Steve

Cam, I thought about it, but having just come back from Western Australia, and starting a new job, I thought maybe next year. Just finished rebuilding the supercharger and re-installing it. If you are going, hopefully it will be a great weekend.

Hi Steve

Yep I was keeping my eye on the Blue MO30 car in Sydney but it went before my car sold. The red one in Melbourne is also on my radar but those seats have to go! Would ideally want one with less than 150,000k's if I can.

Craig there's no guarantee that they'll run it again next year!! The buyer of my old 911 is taking the car over from Adelaide and has offered me a drive which is cool and should be good fun to learn a new track! If you can't make it they are streaming it live at www.rennsportlive.com.au Watch out for an orange early 911 sounding very angry!

Cheers

I have driven Eastern Creek prior to the new section going in. Turn 1 is pretty ballsy. It has some challenging sections that even after a full day I still had not got right. Even though it looks flat, there is a surprising amount of elevation change which makes it interesting.

It is a great track. Although Phillip Island is on the bucket list.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks mate. I did a Historic meet at PI two years ago. The track gets your attention pretty fast!

Definitely one for the bucket list.
