Hi Chaps.

Im on the hunt for a stiffer / NON solid gearbox mount....

I know that Porsche made a M030 mount that was basically stiffer rubber, but these are NLA.....



I have seen these advertized,,

And have mailed them twice,,, but ive not had a reply...

Does anyone on here know of this company,, or are they "fly by nights"...???? [ hear today , gone tomorrow.]....

Hi Dave, what are the advantages of something like this? Also doesn't look too hard a part to get someone to make for you as well.

Hi Pat

A few years back i was talking to a chap who prepped a pair of 968 race cars.

One of which won the PCGB championship.

So it must have been done right...



He was telling me of a gearbox mount,[The M030 mount]. Apparently they were supplied on the 968 turbo,s, only...So thats obviously why its a NLA part....



These mounts are supposed to stop , or at least reduce the amount of "swing" the gearbox does under cornering,,, Swing i say, as the box is hung / mounted at the top.

I also spoke to the driver who won the championship + he told me that it did reduce this swinging....As hed driven the car with both types of mount...



Apparently it makes the car feel more "secure" on fast corners when youve got some directional change , mid corner,, If you "get my drift"....

One corner which it realy helps on is the Cranner curves at Donnington Park. If youve ever driven it youl understand....Or watched some BTCC racing there... Its a FAST downhill right left sweep...A REAL rollercoaster.....

Dave, I contacted them myself and heard back within a day through the

'Contact seller' function on ebay. He said no problem with getting it to me in Australia for about $25au shipping. I told him that I know a guy in the U.K. who was interested so maybe if you go through the same method that I did and ask for a guy called Dayton he'll come back to you.

Just got a reply back from Dayton..So my faith is now restored...

Although i still think the price is a little steep...Even though the shipping is reasonable.. $18 to the UK....



Im now in contemplation mode...???????!!!!!!!!!

Dave, I showed my mechanic who said it looked ok but in his opinion it wasn't totally neccessary so I'm in contempation mode too.lol
