Gauge Malfunction
#1

I have had a recurring problem with my fuel gauge whereby it suddenly drops to empty, stays there for a while and then returns to the

correct reading.

I was planning to remove the instrument pod and check for a loose or bad earth connection,

Before I could do this the speedometer failed to function and the ABS anti lock and Mother light are now illuminated.

I have noted that on one occasion all instruments returned to normal for a short time,

I have checked the battery connections and they are OK

I`m about to pull the pod but would appreciate any advice or comments that will assist me in making this a focused attempt at repair.

Thanks for any assistance.

Search the forum for "cluster", and you'll come up with quite a bit of stuff about wonky gauges.

Thanks, interesting reading.

Look like it has the potential to be a fun little job.
