I have been working on this "Project for almost two months now... When I first started she was nothing but a shell Brick walls, wood rafters, a couple of hanging fluorescent lights, a 16' wood door that was falling a part (probably older then me) and two count them two electrical outlets! So I have taken this two car garage that could not really get two cars into due to the angle of the driveway, house and Garage. You had to have the left car out to get the right car out. At one point in time the garage had an alley door. Now that we are a Historic Neighborhood and my Garage is 4' off the property line I can't go back. Solution I get my 1 car garage and work shop. She gets a new patio/garden area with fountain. With the money we saved from expanding the garage we installed pavers up the entire driveway and walk ways. ( I am glad that constuction is done!) After reviewing my expansion plans with the city I could only add another 200 sqft or so and it just was not worth it. So I settled with what I had.
Here is what I have been doing...
So far I have rewired the entire garage for 3 GFI outlets in the ceiling, 4 separate track lighting zones (30 Halogen Spot & Flood), 2 GFI's on the back wall and 3 8 outlet strips on the side walls, insulated the 8-13' ceiling, built 3 half walls, insulated walls, hung sheet rock Sanded until my arms fell off, textured walls, hung French doors, primed, painted, installed flooring, installed rubber base, hung cabinets, installed central Vac (Just for the Garage), hung Compressor reel, installed 2 500W Halogen motion lights outside, installed new fence posts for iron fence, installed and plumbed and wired fountain, Installed outdoor GFI outlet, Installed (By Wayne Dalton) new 9X7 Carriage house door and IDrive and I hung new siding.
Still to do:
Install lighting
trim doors
Paint and finish siding
install hardwired outlet strips
hang and wire Gulf fluorescent sign
Caulk ceiling
touch up paint
install cover plates
Put new work bench together (Costco 8' Butcher block work Bench)
hang wall storage unit over work bench
Put all wall unit pieces together
Run Air lines to work bench
hook up compressor
finish striping the walls
Install suround sound "Garage theater" system
Hang all my framed posters
ebay all of the stuff I did not end up using!
Get my tools back in order
Detail my poor car that has been sitting outside under cover for the past month and get her inside
I think by the end of the weekend I should be finished with this project! Next Nicole wants me to start laying slate downstairs in the soon to be Pool table room... Does it end?
