I want send my fuel injectors out to Marren for testing, cleaning, and service.
http://www.injector.com/injectorservice.php
Confession: Other than changing oil, I am a terrible wrench - impatient knuckle-buster with limited mechanical ability.
That said, I am attmepting to remove the injectors for shipping to Marren. I see 5 nuts to be removed (I've attached 2 photos showing these), which would allow the fuel rail and injectors to be removed as a whole unit by gently lifting the unit from the sealed injector holes in the manifold.
Also, I think I need to disconnect what looks like a fuel supply line (3rd photo). Anything I need to be careful of here? Disintigrated o-rings? Easily-strippable threads? Excess force on the wrenches? Perpetual supply of squirting fuel? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Any other pointers from those that have BTDT?
Thanks for the help. My car and I thank you in advance! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

[quote name='rustech' date='Mar 7 2006, 05:10 PM']It's not that difficult of a task, just have gentle hands and don't force anything.

That's what SHE said...lessons from my youth <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Time goes by, but some things never change...I'll be gentle. Thanks for the guidance, gents. Sounds like it ought not to be that tough. Might even take this opportunity to paint the vanity cover as long as it's off the car.
