I started out wanting to replace the vinyl window on the top installed on my 93 cab, and was amazed that the local recommended installer wanted $600 just to replace the window. He also gave me a price of $1600 to replace the entire top, but recommended keeping the top since its condition indicates another 3 to 4 years of life remaining.
Instead, I was able to source an entire top assembly with a top that is less than two years old. Since my car is garaged and driven less than 2500 miles a year, the newer top will work out well for me.
So, what I have to sell is the "old" top assembly. As mentioned, the canvas probably has another 3 to 4 years of life remaining (if you garage the car). The rear window shows the normal yellowing you get over time; however, you can still see through the window. I would recommend replacing the window, which will be less expensive than the $600 I was quoted, since you can take the entire top assembly to your canvas installer for repair, prior to installing it on your car.
The top is gray, but could be dyed a darker color. The headliner is black and in excellent condition. The mechanical portion of the top assembly is in good condition, with no rust. Since it currently operates perfectly, I have assumed that there are no issues with the any of the parts.
The sale does NOT include any of the motors or transmissions that make up the entire top installation.
I've attached a photo to this ad, but have many more which I can supply if you respond with your email address.
I have the entire assembly priced at $525 plus shipping. I will supply, at no cost, a crate to protect the top during transport. My "guesstimate" is that shipping would be between $50 - $100, depending on your distance from zip code 60540 (Chicago).
