Frequent messages about "CloudFlare"
#1

Anybody else getting these messages? I'm getting them a lot...

It's ok, just temporary network blips in the Internet. Instead of showing you a dead website message when you can't connect it gives you the website offline message.

I don't believe it's temporary blips in the Internet - I've surfed all week and had no problems with any other site. But several days out of the past week, given a dozen pages, I'll get between 1 and 4 of these CloudFlare returns. Has the DNS or some other aspect of the configuration of the site changed recently?

it is a blip. if you wait a few seconds, and then reload, it will load fine.

it does this instead of the 404 error, which i get on RL and other sites all the time.

nothing about the site has changed.

i suspect that if you are getting these messages, then you are on a server that is overloaded. i am on this site all the time and have never seen this problem.

Just got it tonight also!

What is going on with the "random" pictures that used to pop up when I would enter the "Forums" section. There used to be 5 pictures up there and now I only see one! Not a big deal, but I did enjoy glancing at them before I would move on to the "new" posts...

I get the five. Just had the cloud pop up twice. But for the life of me I can't get my desktop at work to write messages anymore. And I have so much good important stuff to say. Must be the lord telling me to get my

Amy ass back to work! Lol

Still coming up. You cannot get the page to re-load without clicking on the Cloud re-load option. Is this just a way of boosting Google counters?

Frustrating.

flash, unless you're paying beaucoup bucks for some kind of clustered or regional hosting capability, this site is probably only being served from one active server.

It's actually frontended by servers clusters all over the world...

Fancy, if ineffective. Somebody needs to complain. On top of serving up a bunch of CloudFlare messages, there's the added PITA that clicking the "refresh" link in the CloudFlare message brings up a thread from the first post, and not the first unread post.

I never once got that message but for a week or more everytime I hit "View New Post" I get "Sorry, no new content found"

make sure you have the correct tab highlighted. it has to be "forums" if you want to see new content there (as opposed to "members", etc)

also, check your settings to see how you have the new content configured (last read, unread, 24 hours, etc)
