Four more CloudFlare messages today, several last night. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

well, while we are looking into it, it sounds like a problem at your local server. this seems to be a very localized problem, and is only happening in a couple of areas. i have never see that message. basically it sounds like you would get either that or a 404 message. which one would you prefer?

Got six more in a row tonight. I found that once I clicked through the first one, I closed the others and they resolved successfully on the second attempt. Smacks of a DNS configuration error at the provider, which they will never, ever admit.

if you are talking about the host, it makes no sense that it is at the provider, as only you and a couple of others have ever even seen this problem. to date i have still not seen it once.

it must be a localized issue. maybe you were referring to your service provider, which would make a lot more sense.

Yes, I was referring to my ISP.

ah - cool. i think you're right. i also think you are right in that they will probably never admit it. i've run into that kind of thing with my provider as well.

I have also got this a lot lately and I am on a T1 line. I have never had anything like this appear when surfing a website. I will go back through all of my setting but there is something weird going on...

You're in AZ, I'm in NY - so it's not regional. At least not by any "normal" sense of the word...

i don't think it's regional. i think it very localized. i think you're bang on about a provider issue.

What's weird with my experience on this is that it came up when using the iPad which uses the the same provider as my home PC / WiFi but when I went to the desktop in the other room and logged on to the forum it had not problem accessing it.

Since all of this started, I don't get the cloud messages on my desktop-Internet explorer- but can no longer add replies. My iPad gets intermittent cloud messages.

everybody needs to make sure they have cookies enabled. without those, you will have weird stuff happen, like you won't be able to post.

also, periodically you have to log out and log in. it gets jammed up once in a while. not sure what that's about.

Twelve new posts to view this morning, seven of which ended up as Cloudflare messages. Not all in a row, they were interspersed, so probably no problem with DNS. I still suspect an issue with the "feed end".

There are increasing complaints online about Cloudflare...

Quote:I had to disconnect cloudflare as lately over the past week or so I get constant 'Site is Offline' messages even though my site is 'Online'. Particularly when I'm in my Wordpress backend, I'll be doing something mundane such as refreshing thumbnails and it will Cloudflare error "Site is Offline" halfway through. Try the same task again immediately and it completes ok. Cloudflare appears to be too quick to act when it thinks your site is offline. Quick search of their help reveals lots of people complaining about the same thing. I'm signing up to Incapsula to try it out.

Does this forum use the paid or freemium version?

i find it odd that it is only affecting a handful of people here though. those that it is affecting are vocal about it, and it seems to be affecting them a lot, but it's pretty limited in overall occurrence

Another morning of no access and the dreded Cloudfare screen. This did not go away. I went away for a ride on the bike and had to wait until I got back for the system to work.

I got it yesterday as well. I get it maybe once a week; just haven't mentioned it yet. I suspect the problem is quite widespread, given the fact that users all over the country and the world are getting it. I've never seen this on any other site.

Edit: Just got it again as I was logging off from the site after finishing the above message.

I had it one day last week, several attempts in a row. Then it was OK and I have not seen it since...

I just read up about Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/). Among other things, they do content caching, like Akamai. So they probably have some caches of 968forums around the country, or the world. Most likely some, but not all, of these cache sites are not working correctly, or are overloaded. I didn't do a full read on them, but if Cloudflare isn't specifically enabled for 968forums by Flash, then perhaps the 968forums hosting company has Cloudflare enabled for this URL ... if not all sites hosted by the company. Or maybe our different ISPs enable Cloudflare, I really don't know how it is enabled. Of course caching is supposed to improve our experience.... Given this guess, there is probably not anything Flash can do to help the problem. And I have never seen the Cloudflare message, most likely because I am on the same cache as Flash (being also in SoCal).
