well, a lot of good that does - it's a french 968 turbo, the moment it encounters any other car driven by a german it's going to surrender

Can anyone translate? I didn't catch a word.

The road didn't look good enough to be a farm road.

They basically talk about how the 968 Turbo was just as powerful as the 911 Turbo 3.6 and there was a 325hp & a 350 hp GT version out there that was more exciting to drive then the 911 Turbo. Basically, they gave a rave review about the 968's performance and abilities. I understood about 85% of what the narrator was saying: the french spoken in Europe ain't exactly as easy to understand as the lingo spoken in Quebec, but it's close enough that I got the gist of everything.

Sure looks like a 944 turbo intake and head - is it on a 2.7 block?

The 968TurboS uses basically a 944 Turbo engine with .5 liters extra displacement.

The video looks like a promo from when they were trying to sell the car new.

The cut trees also look similar to the background used for this promo shot.

Yeah and check the plates too. What a coinky-dink. Perhaps both cars were doing promo shoots in the same area on the same day or something? Maybe all of the magnificent Turbo's were so recklessly treated by their handlers for the sake of a picture or video. Shame shame.

WTF - I can't believe the producers of this film actually made a decision that *these* were the best road surfaces on which to demonstrate the prowess of my favorite automobile. I mean, c'mon this is mountain bike material - not suitable for a race car. The lumberjack overtones really make my head spin. Whatever.

I think this video shows the car's natural balance very well. A lot of sports cars would be unmanageable on a muddy (or snowy) road, especially with a turbo.

Good point. When you think of rally cars there are plenty of turbos but most are 4WD. But anything can be made to look easy in the hands of a pro.
