Where do I get the correct 968 flywheel lock for a manual transmission? Anyone have one to loan or sell? I need one for doing my belts.

Got a picture of it? I see alot of 944 flywheel locks but haven't found the one specific to the 968's dual mass flywheel. Maybe if I know what it looks like I can tell the right from the wrong. I really would like to get my own since I will also need it for a clutch R&R in the not to distant future. Very generous offer BTW <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> If I haven't found one by the time I need it, I will be hitting you up! Man, what a great group we have here!

Pelicanparts lists a flywheel lock with a part # 000-721-920-61-OEM as fitting the 968 but they a) have no pic and <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> do not specify manual or tip. They have it priced around $65 vs $35 for the 944 style.

lol - believe it or not, i don't have a picture of it (though i could snap one), but i made drawings so that richie (unknown4u) could machine one in the netherlands - apparently worked out great

I think the 968 tip version of the lock is the same as a 944 manual.

The 968 manual is different than a 944.

I forgot where I got mine, but I think it was $70 including shipping.

Yes indead it worked great out Flash. It was faster than a dilivery from the postman. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



And Smokiemon is right about the lock for the 968 tip is the same as a 944 manual.

The 968 manual is longer. I thought about an inch.

I ordered one from paragon 2 years ago. I waited weeks until they told me they are out of stock and looking for more...



Then I went to www.arnnworx.com and ordered one. I have ordered other tools from him and they are all good products. No affiliation just satisfied.

If I could have the drawings of the 968 manual version I could machine one out and look what the total costs are to produce it a small scale.
