No rear fog lights for our cars. But my Cayman and Cayenne both have them.

no. unless the front fog light switch also turns on a rear light. But I have never seen this happen. My cab is a Canadian car. The other cars have two switches - front and back.

lol - i am actually trying to figure out how to disable them permanently on the denali - i can switch them off manually each time, but i'd like to disable that (along with the self locking doors)

today was a big prep day"

did the skirts on the trailer

reset the bearings on the trailer and checked the brakes

fixed a left turn signal problem

dropped the denali off for service(fresh oil, a full once over, yada yada) and got new brakes installed (porterfields of course)

changed the oil in the 968

did a bit of engine bay prep

started tidying up the 968 (much will have to wait until i get there)

started loading into the trailer

i'll wrap up the prep tomorrow and prepare for daryl and jeff's arrival

just about ready now. i had to leave a few things undone though.

i didn't get to belly pan the denali. that will have to wait for another time.

i didn't get to install a second fuel tank, though i'm not sure i want to do that anyway.

i didn't get a chance to wire the inside of the trailer (maybe i can do that while i'm at pete's.

i didn't get a chance to fix what is now becoming a loose driver door handle.

i didn't get a chance to install the parking brake bypass on the 968 stereo.

at pete's i'll have to adjust the voltage regulator - i reinstalled the factory pulley, and now it puts out too much voltage, and causes a whine in my stereo. with the oil reservoir for the supercharger in place, i can't get to it from above, and there was not enough time to lift the car up again here.

but i did get to install the skirts on the trailer, which was a big deal for me. i really wanted to increase my range.

no worries. i think i got done everything that i needed to get done for this trip.

just need to hitch up, load the car, and go.

Safe travels. What's a parking break bypass for the stereo? My stereo works fine with or without the pbrake on

Sounds like you accomplished quite a bit - well done, safe travels.

Are you going to "tweet" from the road? (Not that I've ever gone to, or used, Twitter, but I'm curious.)

lol - if only that weren't true - i have a LONG list of things to get back to

well, the trip there was an adventure for sure - daryl flew out and drove back with me - i don't think he knew exactly what he was getting into though

we left at about 6:30 sunday morning, long before either of us had awakened enough to use the good sense given, and stop before we started

we stopped every 2 hours or so for fuel, and to re-torque the new trailer lug nuts - we only had to make one adjustment on the tongue height, but otherwise the trailer towed flawlessly - the benefit of the side skirts was mitigated by the increased frontal area, so i still have some more work to do there - it was much more stable though, so still a good thing

we blasted across the country, and as we were approaching albuquerque, we called bob blackwell to set up dinner - that is when we found out about his mishap - very bummed, we trekked onward

we had been taking turns taking naps, and after about 20 hours or so, we decided we were still staying fairly fresh and awake, so we blew off the hotel idea for night 1 - onward we went

as we were approaching what would have been the point where we would have gotten a hotel for night 2, we decided that we were close enough, and just had to "go for it" - we continued on, lack of sleep now beginning to have an effect, but ultimately we made it to daryl's shop after an amazing albeit blurring 51 hrs 48min of continuous driving

once there, i grabbed a quick shower, gave the trailer and denali a bath, and installed daryl's chassis brace - then i headed on up to jay's

i spent the next 2 days playing at rs barn, prepping the car a bit, installing a hardtop chassis brace, and getting ready for the event

the event was spectacular and i'll talk about that in another thread

the trip back was solo - this was much harder - i didn't have anybody to take over so i could catch a cat nap - i left at about 12:30 sunday afternoon and drove straight through to just short of st louis - there i pulled off to get gas, and apparently took a right against a light, and nearly nailed a cop in the process - i missed all of that - obviously i was more tired than i realized - i filled up and got back on the road and pulled off at a rest stop just past st louis - i was done for the night and needed some sleep - i grabbed about 2 hours there before the cold woke me up - so, back to the road i went

i drove all the way to just before albuquerque before pulling off to get a hotel for a few hours - there i grabbed about 3.5 much needed hours of sleep - knowing i had to make in through albuquerque before commute traffic i was up an drolling again - not long after i got through town though i realized i did not have enough sleep, so i pulled off to a rest stop for a quick 30 minute nap - then it was off and going AGAIN

the last leg, and particularly the part through eastern california seemed to take forever - the 55mph limit really had an effect - they really need to change that

finally i got home about 7:30 - total trip time was about 52 hrs - i'm still trying to figure out how i made it home in the same amount of time as it took to get there, but had 6 hours of sleep along the way

and now, back to work

welcome back flash. 51 hours, and then 52 hours (almost continuous) is crazy. I admire your endurance.
