Going to Ottawa first to meet some folks with whom to caravan and then south to Hershey. I also live in Canning which is not near Halifax (the capital city). I got 940 miles to Ottawa, 439 from Ottawa to Hershey, and 1347 home. I am NOT going via New York - I did that in 2006 and will never do that again. The traffic from western Maine until I drove off the main road into Newtown was absolutely insane. I will go north again back to Ontario and then home. Further to go but the traffic is easier to understand. I start to smile when I see posted speeds in km/h.

Flash, how about the material sold at Home Depot or other places as edging for gardening projects? It looks about the right size and the price is right. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Flash, you could try one of those non-fatigue matts. They come in runners that you could cut up to size. Also check with a plastic supplier as they have stuff like that.

well, i had a bit of time today, as i was waiting on supercharger parts arriving tomorrow morning, and worked out most of the trailer aerodynamics and such

the skirts for the trailer are now designed - drawing get sent over tomorrow morning - should result in a 4% reduction in fuel consumption

denali front air dam skirt material located - denali belly pan pieces designed - drawings go out tomorrow morning - should result in another 3% reduction in fuel consumption

all totalled, i should see at least a 3/4 mpg gain while towing - that's huge - that means an extra 190 miles each way on the same fuel - that's almost a full tank each way

no, i won't save more than i spend on this run - but, if i do it again, i will break even, and more importantly, the denali will benefit every day, so it will pay for itself very quickly

picked up the remainder of the things i need for the inside of the trailer too - looking at an awning now - not sure yet

this is getting fun - i'm such a geek

well, i've been busy this week on the car:

i took the dash apart for the heated seat switch install, and relocation of the hazard switch - parts arrive tomorrow - should have that all buttoned up by wednesday or so

new gauges installed

sent the chassis brace out for stripping and new powder coating - that comes back thursday

i yanked out the rear short shift kit today and reworked it to quiet down a rattle that has been gradually getting worse - much tighter now

i finally got the brake line guard coils installed on the front lines

cleaned up some gunk under the car from one of the oil line failures where it had collected dirt

i yanked out the 12lb flywheel today - the new 18lb unit arrives tomorrow, along with a cool new disk - off to balancing and back in it goes on tuesday

miles to go before i sleep

lol - true enough

so many things to get done - of course i had the "wisdom" to throw the paso robles event right in there, along with with taxes, a real job i am working on, and spring yard changes

i will probably have to postpone my new top - i wanted to have a new one made with a zip out rear window - i just don't think there will be time

i also wanted to get to the new rotor project - again, just not enough time

oh well

flash you are mod-happy. From now on I am not referring to your car as a 968 - it is clearly something more at this point.

i moved the hazard switch over to the left of the headlight switch and dash light dimmer yesterday - much nicer - opened up that hole for the passenger seat heater switch - the driver side will live on the left of the heater controls - so, now all the climate/comfort stuff is together

today i'll button all of that up

the heat shield for the denali arrived friday - that will go in today as well

all of the sheet metal for the trailer should be done this week too

Interesting, so you don't have two switches for fog lights (One for the front and one for the rear) in the US cars? I find your switch swopping very interresting, you will have to start a thread one day showing all your relocations
