calling flash, the "sound guru" and/or anyone else

if I change only the exhaust tip from the current one ( BB, polished stainless steel, rolled edge, ROUND ) to an OVAL* shape one, in the same polished steel finish, but one which has a smaller "diameter" ( duh - a flattened diameter goes with the oval shape, but I mean even a bit smaller yet.. ) will the tone of the exhaust change at all ? If so, how - lower pitch, higher pitch, ratty, no discernable difference ?

I just prefer like the looks of those oval tips .... well, as much as I can visualize one on my 968, anyway. And typically they're slightly smaller also, which would be nice..

*Oval may be a misnomer somewhat; I'm talking about the tips which have almost a straight, horizontal bottom edge and then the top is a semi-circle, essentially..

It will change a small bit, but you probably wont hear it from inside the car. The exhaust tip is like the mouth and the exhaust pipes are like the throat. Changes to either one have the potential to change the sound of the exhaust, but since your change is so small, there won't be much difference. Not like changing the muffler or resonator, or going from a single tip to a dual tip.

thte amount and type of change in tone is dependent on a number of things - the shape will change it a bit, as would the length, but not as much as packing and other materials found in a resonator tip
