Ferrari vs Common sense
#1

money can buy Ferraris, but can't buy common sense : http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/ferrari-owner-japan-arrested-posting-video-high-speed-195346223.html

and no, it's not the same thing as posting that you drove " X " mph, , plausible denial comes easy on that and impossible for authorities to prove otherwise, but when you FILM yourself breaking the law.. and post that, well, you deserve what's coming to you. What a Bozo !!

Forrest's mother used to say stupid is as stupid does. Still a pretty cool video and couldn't catch the Porsche!

Interesting that the steering wheel is on the left in Japan. I wonder how Ferraris sold to, say, the British and Australian markets are configured.

Great road, awesome car, dumb guy. If I had the dough I know what I'd be driving. Here's another one for the fantasy blogosphere.

Yes, no doubt the Ferrari is a very cool car, but for my money, I'd take rlips' track 968, and putter around on the street in, oh, I don't know, either a Honda S2000, or maybe another 968. I just don't see the sense in driving a car like a 458 on the street. Seems that I'd oscillate between being afraid to park it anywhere, and being frustrated with only being able to (legally and sensibly) use 10% of its capability. Not that I wouldn't mind trying it out once .

If you're wondering who filmed the Ferrari vs Lambo race clip, that was me in the 968 with a hand held camera sticking out the window, while occasionally lifting my foot off the gas to let them catch up so I get get a decent close-up shot of the cars . What ?! ;-)

Another a**hat with more money than brains. He deserves to be sentenced to driving a smart car on the autobahn for 6 months.

It might look safe, like they were not weaving in and out of traffic, open road, etc... But no. Very uncool and dangerous. Not fun on a public road to suddenly have someone inches off your bumper at 70mph.

Just watched both videos and what struck me is that the Japanese doctor does NOT seem to be a good driver. Methodical and mechanical but NOT fluid... THAT is scary!!! When someone tries something on a public road which is illegal, but also WAY beyond their capability...

I am currently in Recife, Brazil, where I just saw the result of some young (rich) punks total their cars in a night time road race along the beach front road... Horrible end result... car parts everywhere... drivers, who knows where... but the danger to the pedestrians is what really is upsetting!
