I was browsing at a couple of car mags yesterday and on the cover of one of them they had a Ferrari Daytona
( everytime I see that car, Phil Collins' "in the air toninght " starts playing in my head along with visions of the opening scene in the first Miami Vice episode.. quick, now where did I put my pastel tshirt ? , but I digress.. )
and a Lamborghini Miura pitted against eachother, for nostalgia sake I suppose ..
Looking at the stats of these super sports cars which, when simply looking at them even today would still evoke thoughts of immense horsepower and unimaginable speed, it was simply amazing to realize 20 years later our 4
cyl 968 can ALMOST keep up with them 0-60, and in the 1/4 mile ..and stay in close chase with those two legends having less than another 10mph of top end speed. But then again it's all relative isn't it ; here we are 15 years or
so later from our car's timeline and sub 6 sec 0-60 or 14 sec Q-mile times are attained by a buch of run-of-the-mill four door sedans of just about every make.. Sigh..
But you know what, in spite of knowing that a Subaru can blow my doors off, I'd still sell a body part to drive around in that Daytona
