Exhaust Music & HP
#1

For the 928 there are various online samples one can listen to. However, my 968 sounds way too quiet with the stock exhaust. However, I don't want to invest a bunch in an aftermarket exhaust system (or remove the muffler altogether) without hearing what it might sound like. Any sound bites out there or does the 4-cyl just not come off well louder?

Also, there's the issue of backpressure affecting engine performance. Would a rear muffler bypass actually reduced HP?

This doesn't answer your question about a recording, but an interesting approach to exhaust mods none the less.

You comment about making a recording does plant an idea if I ever get around to exhaust mods. How were the recordings done? Driveby? Rev in the driveway? Microphone hung out the trunk?

Dave - didn't you and Bob record your one of your dyno runs on video? I asked Bob about it long ago and he didn't get back to me. Perhaps that vid has a sound bite...

If a vid exists, are you running a stock exhaust or ?

Dan's B&B muffler sounds AWESOME!!. I'm sold on making my car sound like a sports car now.

Is there any best place to buy these?

Eric Sandoval had a great deal worked out for 968 owners with Evolution Motor Sports in Tempe AZ, but that was a few years back. I'm not sure they are still able to offer the same discount, but IMO, it can't hurt to ask them - Todd I believe

was the contact there.. http://www.evoms.com

$ 675 for the catback ( or maybe even $ 575 - my memory fails me - old age I suppose <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> )
