pmason, I do like the cabinets overall, but I think all of the cabinet systems are overpriced for what is basically very thin stamped steel panels. It was frustratingly packed (lots of bent pieces and the parts were jammed inside each other so it took a long time to get them separated. They keep all of the display cabinets in the stores locked, and/or they are way up out of reach so I spent a month trying unsuccessfully to compare the Kobalt, Gladiator, NewAge / Coleman and other styles before finally throwing my hands up and going with the Kobalt stuff. In my area, the Gladiator stuff is available at more than just Lowes (Sears for instance), and it goes on clearance more often if I had to guess, but I wanted cabinets now (and didn't want to wait for onesy-twosey sale items) and there is much more of it in stock at the Lowes than any other brand.
Rap, my garage floor has a drain slot running the entire width of it, so it's fairly well sloped from where the front of the car would be back to about the midway point in the floor, then it slopes back up to the entrance. For that reason, I didn't opt for the casters, and used the adjustable legs instead. I do need stuff for the walls, but I have to sort through all my #$%! and figure out what's going where before I start hanging things. There are also a ton of holes in the walls from the previous owner's hooks that I want to repair properly before I throw my stuff up there.
Any garage I had before ended up looking like crap, and I'm hoping I can keep this one looking fairly well sorted if I have enough cabinets to keep stuff out of sight. I don't want to just peg things to the walls or use open shelves if I can avoid it.
This many cabinets was about $1500 so far, which I don't think was too bad, all things considered. I did *not* opt for the "work surfaces", which are basically MDF (beaver puke) pieces that fit on the base cabinets. I can make something better than that, for a lot less money.
