Dynolicious - awesome iPhone application!
#1

For those with iPhones (I'm a happy iPhone 3G owner) check out this great iPhone Applications:

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/29/dynolic...formance-meter/

Time to check on that 0-60 measurement on my 968.

If you do a 0-60, please post your readings here. I'll plan to post something upon completing some readings.

That might be worth buying the phone. How much are these setting you back?

There's no need to buy the new iPhone if you're only looking to purchase apps from the app store. As long as you're current with the 2.0 firmware then all apps will be available for new and old iPhones...most apps even support the iPod touch if you have one of those as well. Whether or not the app was tested for compatibility across all 3 devices is another issue.

well, so far it doesn't work - i do have 2.0 installed on my 8 gig iphone (not the 3g version though) - the app loads and quits - ticket in with tech support now - awaiting their response

I recommend you turn off your iPhone completely and turn it back on (reboot). I've had some apps quit on me at launch but after doing a reboot, they works just fine.

I haven't found a safe stretch of road (and time) to thoroughly test it. I did 3 quick tests down by street and got 0-60 at 7.2 seconds, did not launch the car quite right which is why I got a 0-60 in the 7 second. But the app works!

bummer - hiccup - can't put it in the ashtray location for this application - the phone needs to point forward, which would be 90 degrees out in the ashtray - not the end of the world, but not quite as simple either

but, it could live in the console, which is probably better anyway, as the iphone is only rated to 95 degrees F, and this is a cab

ya i have it on my I touch, seems to work well, you need to put in the drive train loss to get engine HP. i found it to be 24% on some website. i tried it out real fast this morning. you have to make sure it is REALLY secure, and that you calibrate it first. neither of which i did. but with that said it found my 0-60 to b 6.1s, and my total hp to be 282. which my 0-60 should be lower (had a bad start) and my hp should be close to 290-295 range (i think). but it also tells you how many G's you pull, front, back, left and right. along with you being able to save times before and after mods, and then compare them. overall i think its really cool. and we tried it on my buddies saturn... 76 hp at the wheels it said. hahahahaha and a 0-60 of 13s... has good MPG tho.

20% is about right if you have a tip, but more like 15% for a manual

make sure you plug in the correct weight - include yourself and the junk you have in the car (you'll be amazed at how much weight most people drag around)
