dyno results
#1

well chaps, had the car dynoed at ninemeister today, and the results were 247.5 bhp and 322nm of torque, cant remember at what revs, as i could'nt get a print off, but they are going to email a file with the results on, so i will post this later, ithink the car produced 218 bhp a few years ago, so i have acheived nearly 30 bhp with all the RSbarn goodies installed, not a bad gain imo, looking at ninemeisters 430 bhp supercharger next, maybe next year sometime, after i have learnt to handle the car and its characteristics, but i'm happy with those figures for now, regards pazzer.

Nice!

Is this with just headers, chip and ABM?

It looks like some solid improvement! What all is included in the 'goodies'? Cams & headwork too?

no engine work whatsoever eric, just headers, rs barn system with no cat, stage 2 chip. k and n filter and the airbox mod, dont know as yet what dyno crespo, but will find out for you, i'm thinking with rs barn cams and a stage 3 head it should push the car close to 270 - 280 ish, better get saving my pennies, what are you opinions on those figures are they reasonable, dont be shy. pazzer.

Wow, this is encouraging, as I'm getting 21X whp w/dyno with air box mod alone.

absolutely resonable and 30 may perhaps even be a tad low - i would have expected closer to 35, but 30 may well be correct - the missing cat may be part of that though - these things are weird, and respond poorly to backpressure reductions - there are any number of other things that could make the 5 or so missing hp happen - cam timing, compression, fuel pressure, just to name a few - 5 is well within the tolerance though

ignoring dyno anomolies and such, and therefore final numbers and differences from one test to another, using the oem baseline as a starting point:

270 is a pretty reasonable number with your setup (oem 240 plus the 30 gain)

280 is a pretty reasonable expectation with cams and additional matching programming

good on ya

Cheers Flash, do you think these motors could acheive 280bhp with what i have mentioned. will be a nice xmas prezzie for myself , petes head and cams. dont ya think.

yeah, i do think it's reasonable, if you started out with 240 to begin with

that is the hard part - every dyno run is subject to a lot of variables, so consequently every set of numbers is different - that's why final numbers are a non-issue

so, what that boils down to is that a 40hp increase over stock is well within reason with the whole kit and kaboodle

I was under the impression that cams, exhaust, headers, airbox mod, and stage 3 chip would give you around 290? O_o

speculation at this point, and better to do so on the conservative side - again, it all presupposes that you have a run showing 240 to begin with

Geez, getting so much more with chip + header + exhaust is quite tempting mod.. 270 would be quite fun to have.. . This gets definitely on my potential mod list for the summer, among lightening of car.
