Should I do a dyno run?
#1

There's a shop in the Atlanta area (probably a one hour drive for me) with an inground Dynojet 248c. One night a week they have an open door, no appointment special. Up to three runs for $50.00. I'm very curious to see if my D1R Stage 3 SC is getting the numbers it is supposed to. Will this do it? Would the numbers be comparable to those released by Flash for the kit. Any downside to running on a dyno?

If I do this, I would sure like to get tips on how to optimize a dyno run. Any advise from those that have done this would be appreciated.

I would be curious to see what "real world" numbers are being produced. I know Bob doesn't want to publish any numbers for good reasons but I would Dyno my car for 50.00 just for sh*tz and giggles and pass on the empirical data.

I have no issues with publishing numbers

I would like to make sure the test is fair though, just so we don't get into another dyno argument

I am at the end of the phone to help if I can

For $50, I think you will enjoy the time. And, you can have some confidence your install is good when your A/F ratios, HP, Torque, etc. fall into a range you'd expect. I don't think you'll be disappointed in having spent the $50. In my experience, time on a dyno can be a good time.

I will take advantage of the online and offline ideas about this. As my car is down now while the seats are recovered, I will wait before contacting any one. When I can actually do it, I will for sure. Thanks all as usual.

BTW, I have read all the threads in this section, and I understand the difference between the types of dynos. (Haven't found an Eddy current type in Atlanta so far.)

Better not; may not be in her paradigm, and she might take it the wrong way.

Sorry Bob, I thought you didn't want to get specific with numbers due to all the variables (Dyno's, temp, drive loss factor etc.) and the possibility of the people creating heated discussions.

I thought the numbers were published as 310 flywheel hp, 300 flywheel torque, in the SC stage 3 thread, at http://www.968forums.com/topic/12844-hes..._p__136264?
