That's the same kit I used on my daughter's lexan headlight covers, except I used the polishing compound that came with the kit, rather than the Acrylicworks product they describe. So it looks like it does work on glass, although they kept mentioning that it's the clear coat that actually gets cloudy. Not sure if our driving lights have a similar clear coat. It definitely gave outstanding results on my daughter's headlights. The price of the kit varies quite a bit - I paid about $17 at Walmart, but have seen them for as much as $30 at auto parts stores.

The driving lamp lens is glass though and not acrylic so those compounds won't even begin to have an effect. You will need varying grits of sandpaper, tripoi, rouge and cerium oxide. Oh, and power tools. Tried it by hand for an hour or so and barely touched the surface. Ended up starting with a 4" bench sander and 120 grit.
