You're very welcome. By the way, if I know what lens you're talking about, the driver's side may be much harder to find than the passenger side, maybe because we drive on the right and stones from oncoming traffic just break that one more often.



I've put a layer of XPel on my headlights, turn signals and fog lamps to try to prevent just such a problem.

+1 on that. I searched for quite a while and could not find a drivers side lens, tons of passenger side. I found one but the guy wanted 250.00, they are 450.00 new so I guess it wasn't too bad but still.... I ended up buying a whole set from the Pelican forum for 150.00 and learning how to refinish glass. Once I ground down the road rash and polished the lens it was better than the factory. As another +1 I have XPel on all my surfaces (6) as well and that has saved me $$$$$ many times. 40.00 well spent!

You're very lucky. There should be quite a few passenger side ones out there. AutoAtlanta has them, check out http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-parts...905-05.php to see if that's the right assembly.

Anyone know of a DIY anywhere on how to sand and polish sandblasted-looking glass headlights, or driving/fog lights in this case?



While my headlights are fine - I guess they're leaned back at enough of an angle to avoid road rash - I'd love to get my rather worn-looking driving lights all clear and shiny again.

I've had great luck with the 3M headlight restoration kit on my daughter's car's headlights, so I imagine it would work well on the fog lights as well, as long as the gouges aren't too deep. I would recommend removing them, though, as the kit involves a drill-attached sanding disk.

Lexan (aka polycarbonate). Our fog lights are made of lexan, aren't they? That's what they feel like to me, but I could be wrong. If they're glass, I don't think the 3M kit would work. But then, I wouldn't think glass would be very susceptible to road rash, but again, I could be wrong (sort of becoming a theme here...)

As I said earlier I have done this successfully to the fog lamps; turned out better than my good one. I have no DIY but I can certainly tell you what got me to a good result.
