Setting up proper positioning for fixed back sparco evoseats
#1

Hi All, I have some sparco evo seats that the PO installed. They have 3 holes for height on the front and 3 holes in the back.

They are adjusted so that the back is on the bottom slot and the front is on the top.

So tilts back a bit.

Any advice from others that track their cars on best practice for adjustment? I don't care to go through every iteration of mounting and un-mounting the seats if anyone has good experience.

Thanks!

for track, the seating position is very different than for street. it will likely be very uncomfortable at first if you have never done it before.

your arms want to have a much larger degree of bend in them for track. this is to provide better control of the wheel during turns, as well as to help prevent fatigue.

the incline angle is also far less for track. you really need to be almost straight up. this is to help with vision, access to controls, and safety related to spinal compression and "submarining" prevention.

side note: be sure to use NEW bolts to mount the seats to the floor. they are single use bolts, and designed to resist backing out. once they have been removed, they lose that ability. at a bare minimum use loctite on them.

Thanks, my DE instructor also mentioned that I should be straight up and down as well. And that my right foot should be able to depress the clutch all the way. My right hand should be able to rest my wrist on the 10-11 o'clock position on the steering wheel.

I do wonder about all the bolts, shear strength and what not for the 5 point harness.

They look like they were well done with fisheye bolts, and large diameter washers on each side, but I do wonder about tensile strength (I assume there should be a number on there somewhere like a regular bolt on the head)
