Design 1 is restocked

Felix Baumgartner was wearing two of the heat shields during his jump. And a specially fabricated DR1 heat shielding jock strap.

Any word on the metal mesh lower grille? I know I sound like a broken record, but I really want one...

Any update on the Cab speaker enclosures?

i think i am going to drop that project.

initial testing is showing too much sound coming from the trunk and entering the cabin. it's quite noticeable with the top and windows up. the seat backs do a good job of isolating that sound. the fiberglass is not going to do as good of a job. if i can't find a way to adequately deal with that, it just won't work.

also, it looks like there are not nearly enough people to justify doing a mold. i would need at least 10, and i think there are only 3 or 4. i'm not inclined to drop the $3k making the molds needed, and then sit on them, especially since i am winding things down.

it's not adding up to a promising project.

Got my heat shield, short shift kit, and strut tower brace today. Thanks!!

I'm still waiting for my car to ship, but I'll be ready when it gets here.

... Or maybe I should hold onto this stuff until it's NLA. Then I can re-sell for a huge profit!

lol - there might be a couple of people doing that. pretty funny.

the last heat shield sold. i think i have something like 2 lower braces and 3 or 4 shift kits left, and that's about it.

I was going to order a heat shield at the same time as the lower grill. Bad plan.

ironically, i would have had a few more heat shields, but somehow a few got sent to the powder coater and now they are black. no easy way to take that off, and it will not hold up to the heat, so it would be a real mess.

Sell them for half price to people who don't mind removing the power coating themselves.

the problem is that they need to have it stripped before assembly.
