Based on my experience with LED side fret markers on my guitars, I can offer that the red LEDs don't degrade night vision, while the blue ones do, for whatever that's worth! lol

Hmm, it won't be my vision that's impacted, it'll be the guy behind me, so I guess I'd better play it safe. Once I decide on the mud flaps I need to research a good Class III tow hitch for the back bumper and some Euro wipers with airfoils on them too,... then some pom poms for the windshield, fuzzy dice, under-body neon kit... I'd better make a list!
