Tires cost a bit so I have formed the habit of driving them to the last drop which sometime means a bit of cord visible on the edge. Then one has to get home which frequently is 500 km. How is this safety wise appart from the obvious in rain having no thread?



First outing sunday testing, a cold March is just easing its grip so gues well be in low 40s.

Dangerous at best. It would be very easy to cut the thread or get a flat in that area which would not be good at speed.

I don't know about Sweden, but here in Florida we get alot of rain during the spring and summer. Ok, we get rain all year long. Anyway, My last pair of tires were starting to get threadbear. Even in light rain I had to be very cautious with throttle applications as even the slightest bit of agressive acceleration was enough to break those rear tires loose. I even had it happen in dry weather. I'd replace them ASAP.

I can't recommend it, or promise you that its safe, but I can tell you that I've done it countless times with no problems. The only issue I ever ran into was rain as you said. Its no fun driving your track car 45 mph in the slow lane during a rain storm. I must say I'm glad to be trailering the car now so I don't have to worry about these kind of things.

Think I'll start removing the passenger chair unless I know I'll have an instructór with me, that should allow me 2 extra tires (can take 2 in the rear).



Saving up for some driving and car fun stuff so the CS is now my daily driver so no trailering in sight. Which means I started to take the local train instead...
