Coolent in Cylinder 1
#1

I had problem with coolant leaking into Cylinder 1 and it happened recently. It will be there one day but not the other. I had recently replaced the heater control Valve and the hoses between that and the pipes. I check the oil and they are not milky but I saw some milky deposit on the dipstick ball about 6 inches from the end of the dipstick. I just hope this is not a cylinder head Gasket leak!! I had asked and it wil be $2000 to replace it!!

sorry - it is most likely either a head gasket or a cracked head

Is it possible that it is oil cooler seals leaking?

When I replaced my heater control valve, I removed the oil filter for better access. Did you do this? If so it is possible that coolant entered the engine that way. Just a thought.

Yes I did and initially that is what I thought my be the problem as I had to replace the connector hose one at a time as initially I thought only the heater Valve is malfunction but the front hose connecting the heater Valve started to leak after the replacement and then the rear hose did the same thing so I that again. But it had been a month after the replacement and I even changed the oil so that should not be the case. May be I shall do a leak test and see. Head gasket/crack head is something that I wish is not happening!!
