if I had not seen this and was basing an opinion just on someone's description, I might think it would make a car look way too "bling" , but what I saw this morning on the way to work was seriously impressive:a snow white GT3 with red sideview mirrors ! stunning contrast and an accent that, IMO, worked perfectly. Maybe someone can photoshop a white 968 with guards red mirrors and see what that may look like <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



I'm buying some color masking tape this weekend to place on my sideview and see what the iris blue will look like with a contrasting paint on those <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



thinking .. yellow ? red ? grey ? ( the last one would match the interior )



hmmm... nah, probably too weird as I'm looking at the avatar and trying to picture different color mirrors <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

It may work on some cars with some colors, but IMHO your blue looks great as is.

I think this could work with a base color car= red, black, white, yellow, silver, etc. Harder to figure out a contrasting match on a metallic color, especially a dark metallic.



For a track-focused car this would be a fun no-brainer.

On most colors, if i had to.....the only other color i would make the sideviews is matte or flat black. I think matte black sideviews look pretty good on many cars.



also, if you have a CF hood & CF rear spoiler, CF mirrors wouldnt look bad. My Turbo S rear spoiler's adjustable center piece is CF, while the sides are color coded ala Mitsubishi Evo.

might look good...back in the 60's/70's there were a lot of contrasting color mirrors on cars.



I had a speed yellow Capri and I redid the mirrors in semi-flat black. Looked awesome!
