So my radiator has developed a leak and needs to be replaced. While I was researching options, my mechanic suggested I consider adding a combination radiator
and intercooler. I do have the D1R SC kit, and I've been wondering if adding an intercooler would be beneficial.
Thoughts?

Quote:you cannot use an intercooler with the D1R kit as it is set up. it would introduce restriction in the intake, which would lower boost, and require complete retuning. i thought about it for a long time, and while it would make things safer, it would require spinning the supercharger faster to make up for the loss, and in doing so also push the entire curve to the right, costing low end torque.
Are you sure you really thought this through? Maybe you should read over the 10,000 posts you made in development... :glare:

Okay, I figured there was a reason for not having one in the mix. Thanks!
