Hope someone has done the leg work on this.
Need to do the cam & balance belts on my '93 968 coupe and want to set the balance belt tension using a Schwaben Universal Belt Tension Gauge. To use the Schwaben Gauge I need to enter a chart with the required belt deflection (mm) and load (daN) to be applied to the belt. Porsche's Tech Specs and Shop Manual don't give the mm/load answer in any form other than what's needed for the #9201 Special Tool. I know the Porsche #9201 tool seeks a properly tensioned Balance Belt reading of 2.7 (which is a 'number' of seemingly proprietary origin and unknown units of measure), but to use the Schwaben alternative (and much less expensive) gauge I need to know what that magic '2.7' equates to in mm/load.
Can anyone throw me a life line? Thanks.
