The simple answer is yes, they also eliminate the black "Bumperettes" between the two lights...

I would suggest Sunset Imports

well...........there are not any that fit correctly - the 993 lenses ALMOST work, but they leave a pretty noticable gap

If you want a perfect fit that eliminates the bumperettes, then the Euro turn signals (still orange/yellow, whatever your eye sees) is the way to go. There is no perfect clear/white signal for the 968. There has been discussion about having custom fabrication, but that hasn't materialized yet.

Someone needs to invent a spraypaint that sprays the colour clear

We don't have the bumperettes.... (we learn how to brake in time ).

I heard the 993 could fit, but saw a picture on a UK site and the fit was crappy.... a custom job would be nice..

The Uk 968 Forum is again discussing the possibility of sourcing clear indicator lens for the 968.

Either by contacting Hella direct in Germany or by sending a standard orange lens to a contact in China with a view to having it copied in clear finish.

Would this Forum like to enter into a " Group Buy " as the larger the potential order the more likely a production run.

From earlier posts I noted the following as being interested........Damian in NJ , RPM's968 , Mikeo , 968Z

Some feedback on this would be appreciated.

Cheers Shaun ( London UK )

Check out user JarmoL's red 968 in this link. It has clear 993 turn signal lenses.

You will notice the contours are little off. Some can live with this.

Most people hve never seen a 968 and even most with Porsche's would not notice.

The clear does not do it for me.

The 993 clears do not fit the 968 properly. Several owners here have them and would like to change to a better fit .

Shaun,

I would definitely be interested in the clear lenses. Please keep us posted! Thx.

Pete,

Love the picture of the car! ;-)

I have thought about changing over to clear lenses many, many times but could not live with the gaps.

I'm not sure these would even work with foglights installed. I have brake ducts and they are smaller than foglights

I have contacted Hella in Germany through the Uk regarding producing a limited production run of CLEAR lenses for the 968.

Their reply is posted on the Uk 968 Forum under the Heading ...Group Buy-Clear Lenses ..... www.porsche968uk.co.uk

We may try the China route....and will keep you posted.

Shaun-

Make sure you pay specific attention to clearly (pun intended!) defining your requirements if you are trying to source these things from elsewhere. My daily driver is a VW Jetta and that crowd is big on clear/smoked/crystal/etc. aftermarket lights, signals, indicators, etc. One thing I have learned is you get what you pay for... some of the cheaper "clear" lenses separate quickly from the housing. On the other hand, there are those which are worth every penny and last just as long and hold up just as well as the originals. You sorta gotta feel your way around. I worry with such a small market niche for the clear corners on a 968 that you may not get something of quality.... Just my $0.02.

And for what it's worth, I love the amber Euro corners- getting rid of the front bumperettes is a very nice touch.

Sure you'd like the amber Euros - but how many of us have SY cabs to put them on?

Hey- they look just as good on basalt black cabs, so I hear! Now the rear 3rd brake light, that's a different story....

I've got the clear 993 lenses on my car and I'm not thrilled with the fit and finish. Not only is the contour of the lens incorrect, the lens itself is angled just a fraction more than the 968 lens. I don't like misaligned stuff, drives me crazy. Switching back to the Euro orange lenses. I'd be interested in a durable, well built clear lens if somebody is able to get them mass produced. Do any of you with the clear lenses have the bulbs that are clear but blink orange?
