Clear corners?
#1

What is the general concensus on the appearance of the clear corners offered by HK Plus on ebay versus the stock amber?

Is there a higher end company that offers a better quality part?

i think any clear corners make the car look cheap and "japanese" - maybe i'm just too old and stuck in my ways, but i like the amber - i can't stand the clear taillight look either, though it does seem to be a trend amongst the kids nowadays

Yes flash is kind of old haha... ;-) I myself like the look..hence is why I have them. The funny thing about them looking japanese is that its a Euro "look" that the ricers go for lol..But I agree clear taillights are awful!

lol - well, since i don't really pay too much attention to what the cars look like across the pond, i never equated it with euro - besides, i'm just used to amber - when i first started seeing the clear stuff, i just winced

maybe it will grow on me - who knows?

The latest from TURNCLEAR...

Hello Brian,

Apologize for a late answer!

The 968 lens will probably be ready for sale under feb. 2006

The plans is to sell only the front piece. It’s very expensive to manufacture the mold to the assembly as well.

I’ll keep you updated on this product,

Thanks and regards

Joakim

so, does that mean you have to buy the amber euro lenses, pop the lens surface off and change it to the clear one?

I believe that the US rear portion should attach to the clear lens as well as the Euro lens.

A good question though. I'll ask tomorrow and post the answer.

Please keep the info coming.....There are at least a dozen 968 owners over here

who are awaiting news . If only Joakim would get his finger out and let us know when these clear front lenses will be available and also how we are to cut off the amber lense and glue the clear one on .

Cheers Shaun.

i'm with you - not for me - i think it ruins the look of the corner, removing the accent that sets off the body lines, and makes it look like all the other cheap import cars - the kids sure like it though - they go through major hoops to change the lenses to clear on their rice rockets

but, that's why baskin robbins has 31 flavors
