Anyone rocking these tail lights w/ clear reverse section??
#1

I just picked up a set of these from an ebay seller in UK...first time I've seen any tail light options for our cars aside from the all clear tails available in Japan.

Does anyone have a set of these on their car? I'm itching to put them on and can't wait the few weeks it may take to arrive from across the pond

I'm hoping the white reverse sections break up the block of red on the rear of my car (guards red paint)....

I have never seen those.

Pretty cool.

They would look good on a black car too.

Yep!! That's what we've got in the UK.

I had to run outside and check to make sure as Mine is a left hand drive import, but all the lights are UK spec.

I have seen those on an import from Singapore.

I quite like the look of them. It more closely matches the 928 style taillights of that era. And has more of that "form follows function" look.

funny - that's the one thing that i liked about the lights on the 968 versus the 944 - they finally got rid of the multi-color "close encounters/light pro/disco" lights

I really like the all red.

But those are pretty cool because of their uniqueness.

Yeah, I like the all red. I guess if your car was red it might look good. Need to see a picture.

LOL @ the description of the 944 lights....I definitely share your sentiments on that one. I wanted less than 6 separate sections and less than 3 separate colors on my tail lights, but also something to break up the red on the rear of my car so this seemed like a good compromise.

If anyone is aware of where to get the "all clear" tails that someone said was OEM in Japan, I would love to get my hands on a set. My contact in japan never got back to me about a part number or ordering a set. The custom possibilities with all clear tails!!!!!!

Wow BBZ...thanks for the info. Let's just say that with shipping and the value of the dollar v. the gbp...I paid nearly the price they are new for a set of 15 year old used tail lights. Nahh not quite, but they were still much pricier than I was expecting but I really wanted to have them because of the relative rarity.

Do you happen to know anything about the all-clear tail lights? There was another thread on here where it was said that they may be J-spec...but I just don't see how any country's DOT would use 'all clear' tails over a decade ago....I have a feeling they might be one-off aftermarket lenses that were *only available for sale in japan* but not necessarily J-spec OEM....

?

And yep - check out Sunset for the ROW front lenses...they really update the front end of the car. Black bumperettes just scream early 90s to me

Well I received these tails today and I'm happy to report that literally..the ONLY difference between these and my stock all-red tails is the smoked white reverse section. To date, I've only seen the version that feature both the clear white reverse section *and* an orange lens over the turn signal too so there end up being three colors total on the tail lights. With these, there are still only two and I think it's going to look terrific on the guards red car.

I'll post some pics this weekend of before and after and of the new tails next to stock in direct sunlight.
