I've had one on since 1996, no fading or yellowing Can't tell it's on the car unless you're standing right beside it.

If the weather clears up in the next day or two I'll move the car outside and take some close-ups in natural light. In the meantime there is a long shot at

Second car down.
It was put on by a company called StoneGard in Bellevue WA. The film was 3M.

I do not think that Stoneguard is around any more.
I also had mine done in Bellevue, in a small shop behind the Bellevue Porsche dealer.
My car and a Ferrari were done on the same day.
still looks as good as the day it was put on is mid 2007.

Update on my saga. Still working with the mfg to get the warranty work done - 6 months later. Distribution of my material was sold to 3M and that definitely slowed me down. Got a call back from the new guy at 3M though and he is starting to get it all moving again.

Flash is your pattern for a partial front or a full front coverage?

the pattern is pretty standard - full bumper cover, part hood, mirrors

still trying to get somebody to make it - i keep running into "sure i'll make it for you, but i get to keep the pattern and sell it" - i'm not inclined to let somebody else profit from my efforts

i need to skip the middle man step and go straight to the pattern cutter

now that i'm back i can get back onto this

I live in Tigard a suburb of Portland Oregon. The ex president of the local Porsche club, Mr Chuck West has been installing 3M'S product for about 8 years or so. He has a great reputation for installing the product and everyone in the Porsche club knows him to do an excellent job installing the clear bra. His price of $850 includes the front end bumper to bumper fender tops and other places. He consults with every owner to decide how they want the cut to be placed, i.e. straight across or to follow a line. I do not now if this is a good price or not , just mentioning it to local members. for more information you can call him direct at 503 720-2037. I am thinking of putting it on the newly painted 968 that I bought from Pete. The paint is over 6 weeks old so it is safe to apply. 3M'S product is 6 mils thick with about 3 mils of adhesive.

if i can just get the kit cut, i can sell it for about a third that - the problem is that all of those small installer shops won't do it, and the suppliers to them want the pattern for themselves - i won't do that

i would highly recommend doing it - i wish i had - now i get to repaint the car again

$850 is a reasonable price for a front end kit installed. A full custom front end is twice that. Find out what the warranty is. Lots of evidence that the film fades and yellows over time.

For "yellowing" to occur you would need bright sunshine. That's a non issue in Portland and Seattle, at least this year.
