Porsche Motorsports Front Splitter
#1

Greetings,

I just got my Porsche Motorsports Front Spoiler installed today and had to share. I also received the Porsche Motorsports Rear Spoiler as well. I am still missing a couple pieces on that but hope to have it installed soon. I wanted to say a big thanks to Raj Datta who helped me to obtain these rare beauties.

Best wishes to everyone,

Scott

So where did you get it again?

The splitter looks very nice. Really complements the car. I tried to obtain one myself from a guy off of Rennslist a few weeks back but they went too fast.

Is your grill steal or painted white? Either way it accents the silver crest well.

rhudeboye, the grill is from 968 engineering who is not selling them anymore. ;-(

eric sandoval turned me onto the source for these - they are readily available from gert at carnewal in belgium (carnewal-europe.com) - he always has them - 360 EU i believe (that's $484 as of today) - less if you buy in quantity - doing so also allows you to save on shipping - i think it something like $60 fedex for 6 and $50 for 1

i did a group buy on them a bit over a year ago - it would be cool if somebody else did the same thing again - i highly recommend carnewal - gert is a great guy

I would be interested in a group buy. The carnewal splitter is more expensive than others, however I understand it is made of much stronger material (not fiberglass)?

it is the only polyurethane one i know of - it is the "factory" part - it's not so much that it is stronger, but that it flexes

the first 2 are fiberglass

don't know about ess

the last one is the real mccoy

tech art also makes a 3 piece unit, but it looks very different, and is also pricey compared to the fiberglass replicas above

Surprisingly the parts that GT racing sells (body panels from their catalog), aren't as expensive as I thought they would be. I was expecting each panel to cost thousands of dollars. Not cheap, but far less expensive than what I was imagining.

yeah - not bad - however, the fit and finish of their parts i've seen is typical of fiberglass components like this - it's not just them - i have yet to see perfect fit fiberglass stuff - perfect for a race car, but not generally up to snuff for a street car

I emailed Gert on the April 3 to inquire about the availability and shipping costs. This is Gert's reply:

Quote:Hi Mike,

The P86001 Cup chin spoiler is 360 Euro

Shipping for one or two units is 58 Euro (because of the size )

We need 3-5 days to get the parts in stock.

Shipping usually takes 2-3 days.

If you like to order, please use our secure site.

http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_order.htm

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Gert.

rhudeboy, if you are interested in braided stainless steel grill inserts, contact Doug Foster (doster on this site) he made up a set for "ol blue" and I am very happy with them. They are a lot stronger than the aluminum items which 968 engineering was making. I broke the bottom aluminum insert on the track when I hit a cone and it could not be repaired. So far the braided stainless steel is holding up well. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.
