Changing Fog Light Lens
#1

Any tricks of the trade in changing the fog light lens? Please don't tell me to remove the bumper...again. Well, if you have to...go ahead and give me the bad news. I have other stuff I can do while in there.

Thanks,

Harvey

Remove the turn signal (one screw) Remove the fog light (two bolts). Easy.

Oh Yea, if you still have the bumperettes, remove that first by prying off the littel black cover and undoing the nuts. I believe the turn signal removal is not necessary then.

and make sure you put them back correctly - it's not entirely impossible to switch the L with the R and turn them with the incorrect side up / down .. they'll look and fit fairly normal in that manner also... except upon close inspection, or, at night when you turn your fog lights on and they become UFO search beams instead <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

ahem, I won't mention how I know this <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> . let's just say I read it somewhere <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> . yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

still have to figure out why at last year's german auto fest all the 968 guys were standing in front of my car, pointing in unison at the fog lights and laughing.. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/huh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Hi,

Is it possible to just change the foglight lens, I though the lens can not be bought seperately because it was a selaed unit and you have to buy it complete. Or is the lens the chroom part??

It is a sealed unit, you have to replace the whole thing.
