Can Dynamat be re-used
#1

I installed Dynamat in my doors awhile back, and have since decided to convert my car to a mostly-track car, so I'd like to pull it out, and install it in my daughter's car to improve her stereo's sound quality. Will the adhesive stick after being removed fronm one can and re-installed in another? If not, is there a good adhesive someone can recommend for this application? I'd hate to throw the stuff away. Thanks.

if not, certainly i would think you could spray on new adhesive. super 77 or whatever is the bang zoom current version would be what i would use.

i think the hardest part will be getting it out of the car without it sticking to itself and becoming a wadded up mess

Thanks. Yes, I'm concerned that getting it out cleanly could be quite a challenge. Wish me luck...

I don't see an issue with reusing it. That is, if you can get it off in reusable form. Try sticking some wax paper to the area that is unstuck as you gradually pull it off.

MB,

Good suggestion - thanks. Any way you slice it, I can't see this being a lot of fun. I do get a lot of satisfaction out of helping my daughter with things like this, though - sort of makes me feel relevant in the life of a teenager, which is not always an easy feat!

Any way to achieve that with a daughter is a good thing as I can attest, though it's been a while since mine were teenagers. Even a better reason to remove Dynamat than the weight savings.

Gee Cloud, and I thought taking my teenage daughter out for a slice and a shopping spree helped keep me relevant! Time spent together doing whatever is often all they really want. Course I'm no expert!

Yeah, as busy as I am with my car build, I do want to carve out some time to help her with her stereo install, because it's really important to her. She just got a great part-time job, so she's paying for it, but I want to help her get the best system possible. Maybe she'll think about me, if even just a little, whenever she's listening to it.
