Because it only invloves $, no crying here...

A car story that involves people, relationships, emotions, ... some of those can be a real "tear jerker"!

Like the story of the guy that bought a Porsche for his Dad , even though Dad was terminally ill with cancer.

Or the story of the son that bought his dad's former sports car back for him after thirty or forty years of being apart!

Those stories get me...

well, I meant that figuratively.. no REAL crying over spilled $ 30 million, just pity, some dufus trashes a treasure..

Of course!

"REAL 968 owners don't cry!"

It is a pity when a VERY special car is damaged.

DS is this a softness( maturity) that comes with age? Like a fine wine? Or are you just turning into a teddy bear? I suspect I'd be afraid to drive a 30m car. But then maybe I've already crossed over to the teddy bear side?

See the movie " Ted " , all teddy bears should be that way, LOL, but I digress and I'm OT. Nah, it's just that $ 30 mil tags for a car , or even for a house ( ok, in California.. ) seems so out of my reality that I cringed when I read the story. I love Ferraris, particularly the old and rare ones, so it was rather painful to learn of this car's fate.

You know a few years back when the Monterey Historics featured Ferrari, they had a race just for GTO's in which all but two or three of the worlds GTO's participated in. Truly a spectacle. I happen to believe the old race cars, like old airplanes should be seen and heard, doing what they were intended to do.

30m is a difficult number to comprehend for a car. But perhaps it's the Scots in me!

Let's see,... 4 into 30, carry the 1,... divide by number of parts,...

Nope. I can't even afford a fender.

Let's see...you have a choice of buying 1 GTO , or about 2,500 968s. Even RAP's garage can't fit that many 968s, so the GTO is the only PRACTICAL choice here.. :-)

Yeah Chris, but when you saw them they were "only" worth about $18 Million apiece..hardly worth mentioning

During the course of the garage construction and long before it was completed, my contractor mentioned to me with a bit of a gleam in his eye that he had already made plans to blow out the one side to increase capacity. Mind you this was just with the frame up. Long before I ran three times over what I thought it would cost! So while even that won't fit 2500 968's, it would provide a proper home for one GTO. DS I just need some lead time! Lol
