Can a 986/996 Ebrake handle fit the 968 Ebrake?
#1

So I am looking at potentially getting a wood 986/996 Ebrake and I want to know if anyone has taken off the actual handle and modified it to fit onto the 968 assembly...

This can be accomplished with 993 wood Ebrake handle- myself and a couple of other 968 owners have done this.... Just wondering if it is possible with the 986/996 version as well.

TIA

I have not seen this done myself. But some of those handles are real nice.

Yeah, there are some nice ones for sure.

On my old coupe, I had a basic 993 dark rootwood handle for the ebrake. Since the interior was classic gray, it really gave it a nice touch, IMHO. I also had a matching 993 dark rootwood shift knob with stainless steel shift pattern insert. Again, with the gray interior, it was a classy touch...

Look at me all patting myself on my back!

For the cab, since the interior is black, I was thinking of going with light rootwood or maple. These are, obviously, lighter than the dark rootwood and they will hopefully provide a nice contrast to the full black interior.

Still undecided if I will pull the trigger though.... If the ebrake handle doesn't fit, I'll be out a few bucks!
