[quote name='Bob Kovacs' date='Jul 12 2006, 06:25 AM']I got magnetic moldings after getting a doozy of a ding in a parking lot. These magnetic moldings may not be the prettiest but I love 'em.

Car came with Escort Cups, M030 Sways, Recaro SRD's, KN Filter, delrin bushings, and a little maitenence.

First things I did was the airbox mod, cleaned intake system, RacerX chip 7800, Champion 18X8/10 with Pirelli Pzero's, 3" custom exhaust, and right now we are in the process of building a cage, new seats, suede headliner, leather dash, door panel uppers, and center console, STACK dash, and some paintwork.

Maitenence....well I just ordered some $600 in parts from Pelican Parts. Belts, tensioner, rollers, seals, gaskets, whole outside seal set...I think thats all.

Sorry, somehow I missed this post until now. I will look at home and get the info. I'm pretty sure I got these from an ad in Excellence but that would have been more than five years ago.

I love these magnetic moldings. They're easy to take off when I wax the car, easy to clean and they stick with absolutely no problem. And they are beefy enough to have saved me from numerous door dings.

[quote name='Renalicious' date='Jul 12 2006, 04:44 PM']I'm worried about trashing my airbox by trying that air-box mod, mainly cause I don't trust my own ability to do stuff like that <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

However, the first actual "mod" I did, was Iridium plugs, and new red wires from Paragon. Although I'm sure that's more maintenance than a mod lol

Airbox mod is nothing to worry about. The hole saw bit, which you get at Home

Depot, cuts through that plastic like nothing. Just keep that drill spinning

until you are all the way through. The only problem you could have is if

you hesitate, and slow the drill speed down while making the cut. This will

cause the bit to grab the plastic and bind. This you do not want. When you

are done, and the paper filter is replaced with the K&N, you won't believe

that it could be that easy (and cheap) to get more hp. Good luck!

I looked and couldn't find anything on the magnetic moldings, which surprises me because I stuff all my receipts into a folder. My recollection is that I found them advertised in Panorama or Excellence... unfortunately, there is no manufacturer name or part number stamped anywhere.

I looked again and found the receipt for my magnetic door mouldings. Unfortunately, I've searched on Google and Yahoo's Yellow Pages for the company and can't find it. The name of the product is the Magnetic Door Bumper (MDB) and I received "MDBs Full Set" with the ID Number of "11". I paid $89.95 plus shipping and I ordered them on June 21, 2000. Here's the company information I have:

Company: MJ Motoring, 4360 Fleming Street, Philadelphia, PA 19128

Phone: 888-453-2768

I've been using these strips on my car ever since and wouldn't go anywhere without them. Some might say that it isn't a factory integrated look but they have saved numerous door dings and are easy to remove and re-install.

1. Tires and alignment.

2. I had the rear suspension re-indexed and the car lowered to the correct euro ride height. This keeps the 944/968 series from becoming ballistic pendulums in the twisties.

These are the best first two mods you can do before starting in on the more extensive stuff. Plus it gives you a great platform to start from and evaluate all the stuff you do.
