Calling all DFW, TX area 968'ers
#1

Posted something similar in the sightings section. I would like to see if all the DFW, TX 968'ers would be interested in getting together. I will plan the logistics / location / ETC. Just chime in and let me know you are out there and potential dates so we can firm something up.

Thanks in advance!

I love the slippery slope of automotive excess...if only it did not take up so much time and resources (money, cut fingers, gashed knuckle....)

So, it's now 2009! Anyone still interested in getting together? Is everyone's car in storage for winter?

I meet with the DFW area 928 group (they are great folks too) yesterday....weather was beautiful. Had about twenty 928's show up (and one 968...mine). The group meets the first saturday of the month. Let me know if you are interested and I will forward you the email address of the guy that coordinates them. Maybe we can get a few 968's in the mix.

Update: I exchanged emails with Roger (the guy that coordinates the event) and he said that 968 drivers are more than welcome to join in on the monthly GTG. As he said it "the more...the merrier". Nuf said. I will post the time / place for the Feb meet (weather permitting).

Sounds like it could be a good opportunity. There is a nice white 928 that lives a block away from me. I haven't ever met him, so now I might have a reason. Keeps us informed.

Rob, on a side note, nice choice of current cars. My wife also drives a 2004 V8 Touareg. We really enjoy it.

Great,

I will PM everyone on this thread when I hear from Roger. Lately they have been at Andrew's Restaurant in Bartonville (on 407 near Argyle / Lantana) or Mimi's Cafe in Grapevine.

Hope to see you all on 2-7.

Thanks Rob, that would be awesome! I am not sure if I'll make the 7th GTG, as my parents are in town. What time do you usually meet?

BTW, has anyone had any paintwork done on their cars in town? Any recommendations? Any experiences with Stuart's Paint & Body?

Thanks,

Alan

I tried posted a picture of my car with the new rims on it too, but it won't upload for some reason....

Usually early 8AM to Noon. Everyone has breakfast about 9:30 or 10 and then just hang and talk, look at new mods, ETC.

Not sure in Dallas, but everyone loves: German Technology, Inc (GTI) over in the Mid-Cities. I hear they do the best work, but be prepared to wait. I personally use Master Europa in Ft. Worth. I have been a customer of for 5-6 years and I think the work they do is fantastic.

I have had numerous experiences with Caliber Collission...sadly. I used their location on Grapevine Highway in Carrollton for my old 944 back when it was called Classic, and since then they have been bought out by Caliber. I took the 968 to their downtown Ft. Worth location and was pleased. I have also used their Dallas location near Love Field on my wife's car. It is a new shop, so the facility is pretty nice. The service on the whole was pretty good, but we did have to make a return trip after they made the bumper the wrong color. Now that it is resolved, I am pleased.

Collision centers and places that i would rather not have any knowledge of...kind of like a hospital I suppose.
