Cabrio dome light issue
#21

The reason I was asking about the alarm, is because if it flashes fast, one of the alarm trip points is not working, so they are trunk, hood, left door, right door, glove box and radio.

It might have been a tip, to lead you to a bad ground, reed switch etc.

In the past I have seen issues were the light doesn't go out, and rather than find out why, people disable things.

For example the hood light on my car would always stay on, so they unplugged it rather than see the problem was a missing bracket for the hood microswitch.

gotcha - hopefully all is well with it now that the alarm has been cycled, but the reason I looked at this before is that I thought it wasn't working (and it definately wasn't when I tried to test it over the weekend).  I will check it out tonight.

I am with you, though - I like everything to work as it is supposed to and usually try to track that stuff down.

I need to check the open door gong too....

Remote, please post what you find about the door gong. I never have figured out why mine doesn't work, but, in all honesty, i have not tried really hard. If you figure it out, maybe that will light a fire under my butt to get back to it?

Lots of folks pull the gong and buzzer out from under the dash behind the ignition key. Check there first.

Door gong is working and light still working.  Sorry not more help on the door gong trouble shooting.  i did catch myself thinking I had a problem because the light didn't go off when I shut the door, but realized the 968 door activated dome light has a delay (my 944 S2 Cab does not).  Both doors are working (activate the dome light) so I think i can cross this one off my list.

Thanks for the help!!
