Cab side window problem
#1

The problem started when the passenger side window would not roll down, but it would still do the little jog down for top up fitment. I did not think motor because this was still working, but now it no longer jogs down that little bit to keep the window from interfering with the top seal during top-up operation.

Anybody had any problems involving window relay operation ? Why would one side still work if it was a relay problem? Why would it still jog down if it was a motor problem? I just can't figure it out. I did check the pin switches in the door jam and they look fine with all wires attached.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ryan, I don't know the answer for sure, but I have read here that in some cases cleaning and lubrication of moving parts is what's needed to restore smooth window operation. The indication that I need to do this for my cab is slow window movement. Would you say yours are slow?

Regards,

Michael

i've had bad switches and dirty sub-harness connectors cause problems with the window motors too. there is a multi-pin connector for the passenger window under the dash on the passenger side that is known to go wonky.

You could have a burnt spot on the motor rotor contacts. If you land on them the motor won't work, if your slightly off you will get 1 rotation before hitting the bad spot again.

Hi Ryan, It could be the window switch points need to be cleaned. Good ole Clark's garage.com has the fix.
